FAQs
What is Sculptra, and how does it work?
Sculptra is an injectable treatment made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that stimulates your body’s natural collagen production. Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra gradually restores facial volume and improves skin quality over time, resulting in a more youthful, natural-looking appearance.
What happens during a Sculptra treatment?
During your treatment, your practitioner will cleanse the area and apply a numbing cream if needed. Sculptra is then injected into targeted areas using a fine needle or cannula. Your practitioner will massage the area to ensure even distribution. The entire procedure takes about 30–45 minutes, with minimal discomfort.
How many treatments will I need?
Most patients require two to three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart to achieve optimal results. The number of treatments depends on your individual skin condition, volume loss, and aesthetic goals.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
Sculptra results develop gradually as your body produces new collagen. Initial improvements may be seen within a few weeks, but the full effects typically appear three to six months after treatment. Results can last up to two years or longer, making it a long-lasting option for facial rejuvenation.
Is there any downtime or side effects?
Sculptra has minimal downtime. You may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites, which usually subsides within a few days. To ensure optimal results, youll be advised to follow the ”massaging the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days to help distribute the product evenly.
Who is a good candidate for Sculptra?
Sculptra is ideal for individuals experiencing facial volume loss, fine lines, and skin laxity. It is suitable for those looking for a natural, gradual improvement rather than instant results. It may not be recommended for individuals with autoimmune conditions, allergies to any ingredients in Sculptra, or those seeking immediate correction.
